Blinn would like to remind students, faculty, and staff that now is a great time to take extra care regarding health and good hygiene. Remember to wash your hands frequently and cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze. Stay hydrated, eat a well-balanced diet, and get plenty of rest to keep your immune system running at full-speed.
Viruses we are continuously monitoring include meningitis, measles, and the flu. Now is a great time to verify your immunization status. Did you receive your MMR vaccine? Are you in need of a meningococcal vaccine? Talk to your doctor to find out if you are up-to-date on all of your immunizations .
If you experience fever, headaches, body aches, upset stomach or other symptoms, contact the campus health clinic or your physician, as these can be signs of serious conditions such as meningitis or the flu. If you have a fever over 100.5 degrees, contact a physician immediately.
